The materials we use for our jewels are:
Bronze, Copper, Silver, Gold, Plating and Glazes.
Bronze
It is a material mainly composed of copper, is enriched with tin up to 8-9% giving rise to alloys with good mechanical characteristics and great resistance to corrosion: these alloys are still workable plastically and can be laminated, extruded, forged, printed and drawn . Further increasing the content of tin, the hardness reaches levels such as to allow only pieces obtained by casting, also called castings.
Bronze is changeable from atmospheric agents, therefore it is advisable to use it purely ornamental, avoiding liquids and long-lasting deposits on the skin to avoid streaks or spots on the skin.
Maintenance: for a good duration of the object it is advisable to use specific products for cleaning and avoid the immersion of the object in salty and sweet waters. These products are born to be used and lived to give them the ancient nuance.
Copper
In all probability, copper is the metal that humanity has been using for a long time: copper objects dated 8,700 BC have been found. Copper is changeable from atmospheric agents, therefore it is advisable to use it purely ornamental, avoiding liquids and long-lasting deposits on the skin to avoid streaks or spots on the skin.
Maintenance: for a good duration of the object it is advisable to use specific products for cleaning and avoid the immersion of the object in salty and sweet waters. These products are born to be used and lived to give them the ancient nuance.
Silver
It is a soft transition metal, white and shiny.
Silver is a very ductile and malleable monovalent metal, barely harder than gold, with a white metallic luster that is accentuated by polishing. It has the highest electrical conductivity among all metals, even higher than that of copper, which however is more widespread due to the lower cost.
Silver is changeable from atmospheric angents, therefore it is advisable to use it purely ornamental, avoiding liquids and long-lasting deposits on the skin.
Maintenance: for a good duration of the object it is advisable to use specific products for cleaning and avoid the immersion of the object in salty and sweet waters. We recommend periodically to polish the jewels by authorized laboratories to make them as new.
Gold 750 Gold (18 Kt)
It is a precious material, known and highly appreciated by humans since prehistoric times. Most probably it was the first metal ever used by the human species (before copper) for the manufacture of ornaments, jewels and ritual objects. 750 gold (also called 18 carat Kt) and that can be white, yellow or pink, means that 750 per thousand (or 750%) is composed of pure gold, while the remaining 250 per thousand (or 25%) from other metals . Based on these added metals, gold takes different colors. It is unassailable by most atmospheric agents. It is advisable to avoid prolonged use in contact with soaps, perfumes, acids to maintain its shine. Treat only with special cloths. We recommend periodically to polish the jewels from authorized laboratories.
Platings
This is a very well known plating technique used for decades. The components of the Jewel are immersed in a Ruthenium or gold chemical bath crossed by electric currents. This electro-chemical technique causes ions of gold or ruthenium and others of other metals to be deposited on the components by charging them negatively and thus forming a layer of some microns.
Maintenance: the claddings are rather delicate coverings, for a good duration of the object we recommend the use purely ornamental avoiding liquids and long-lasting deposits on the skin. All the plating are Free Nikel. Periodically we recommend polishing the jewels from the authorized laboratories and having the jewels plated again after wear to make them as new.
Glazes
Enamel is a covering coating with a light-colored glass base, fuse at temperatures of 999 – 980 ° C, usually applied to noble metal objects such as gold, silver and copper or metal alloys such as bronze, brass and cast iron, as a base for be decorated or as a protective coating against rust and acids.
